We’ve all heard stories of train delays caused by stray dogs on the tracks.

Sometimes, the outcome isn’t happy—trains continue on, and passengers feel a bump.

But in Santiago, Chile, one train conductor made a different choice.

Killing the dog was not an option for him.

Instead of waiting for authorities, this hero stopped the train, climbed down onto the tracks, and rescued the scared dog himself.

You can watch the video where he gently calls the dog over, cautiously reaching out despite the risk of getting bitten.

Luckily, the dog responded to his kindness.

With careful hands, the conductor lifted the dog to safety, where another worker helped ensure the pooch was safe.

When he returned to the train, he apologized for the delay, saying, “I couldn’t just run over the dog.”

The passengers erupted into applause, recognizing him as a true hero.

This heartwarming moment reminds us that compassion and courage can make a world of difference, even in unexpected places like train tracks.

It’s proof that sometimes, taking a little extra time to do the right thing can leave a lasting impact on everyone involved.
