New York City filmmaker Bryan Reisberg has found a creative and highly effective way to help homeless shelter dogs find their forever families.
Once a week, Reisberg steps away from his routine to take an adoptable dog from the Best Friends Animal Society on a personalized “Best Day Ever” adventure across the city.
He carries the pups on his back inside a specialized dog backpack emblazoned with an “Adopt Me” sign, turning the pets into instant attention-magnets.

The urban adventures include navigating crowded subway cars, touring Times Square, visiting Central Park, and stopping at local pet shops for toys and treats.
The project originally began when Reisberg filmed the joyous reactions of commuters seeing his own Corgi, Maxine, riding in a backpack.
A friend suggested he use that same viral charm to spotlight shelter pets who are often overlooked in kennels.
Reisberg documents each trip with professional polish, highlighting each dog’s unique personality on social media.
The strategy has been incredibly successful, with his videos amassing over 75 million views.
According to Julie Castle, CEO of Best Friends Animal Society, Reisberg’s viral content has helped change public perception of shelter animals while directly leading to a massive uptick in adoptions.
