Some pups seem to be born with a stroke of luck, and nothing can derail their path or destiny.

With an unwavering belief in finding their perfect hooman, they pave their own way.

Griffon, a little pooch, held onto this belief firmly despite his stray status.

He knew deep down that a kind soul was waiting for him out there.

Positive Thinking Dog

The power of positive thinking is evident in Griffon’s story: pawsitive thoughts lead to pawsitive results.

One day, fueled by courage and a confidence that could put anyone to shame, Griffon casually strolled onto a naval base and…

…found himself a hooman who would care for him!

As simple as that!

So, what did Griffon do? He walked onto a naval base and chose himself an owner.

Take notes from his playbook!

This good boi simply walked in and declared he wanted a home.

The stray life didn’t suit him, and he sought a change.

Born and raised on the streets, this 6-month-old pupper knew street life wasn’t for him. It was too harsh for Griffon’s gentle soul.

Enter the scene: one U.S. naval base overseas, one U.S. Naval Commander, and his comrades at the base.

When the Commander spotted Griffon approaching, he sensed the pup’s destiny was to wander onto their base. You don’t witness many dogs strolling into a military facility every day.

“A U.S. Naval Commander saw the little dog and immediately recognized he wouldn’t survive long alone in such a dangerous environment; scooping the pup up into his arms as he was reminded of his unit’s motto “Those who arrive alive, leave alive” and he knew it had to apply to this little soul too,” reported Paws Of War, a non-profit organization, on their Facebook page.

As word spread about the puppy on the base, excitement erupted. Everyone wanted to meet the little guy who dared to enter a facility filled with big, tough guys.

The army gear and mighty guns didn’t intimidate little Griffon. He won their hearts, knocked them out of their military boots, and became a tiny hero.

The Commander, opting to remain anonymous, expressed his reluctance to leave Griffon behind.

Originally from Maryland, this brave soldier had a wife and kids who were overjoyed to welcome Griffon into their lives.

Little Griffon became family.

Little Griffon became a ray of sunshine in everyone’s daily routine.

And, little Griffon made his wish come true: he found the hooman he deserved.

Thanks to the support and donations to Paws of War, the non-profit organization that provides service dogs to veterans, Griffon was able to move from the base to Maryland, into his new family home.

He reunited with his Commander, the first person he laid eyes on, and the first hooman who understood how precious Griffon truly is.

Today, Griffon serves and protects his family, just like his hooman daddy does.
