A Boston terrier named Béa has been reunited with her owner, Shelton, more than three years after being stolen from his front porch in July 2022. Shelton spent years distributing flyers and following leads before his hope began to fade.

Everything changed when a friend spotted an Instagram post from Wags & Walks showcasing a newly rescued dog named “Kit” available for adoption. Shelton instantly recognized Béa by her distinct physical traits and posture.
Key details of the reunion include:
- Narrow Escape: Béa was scheduled to meet a potential adopter just one day prior, but the appointment was canceled, allowing her to be posted online.
- The Initial Meeting: During their first encounter at the rescue, Béa acted hesitant and treated Shelton somewhat like a stranger.
- Unlocking Memories: Upon arriving at Shelton’s home, Béa immediately walked straight up the stairs to his apartment without hesitation.
- Rescue Perspective: Lesley Brog, founder of Wags & Walks, noted that such reunions highlight the core purpose of animal rescue work.
Shelton expressed immense gratitude to the rescue team, foster caregivers, and the family whose canceled adoption appointment made the reunion possible.
