It’s always heartwarming to see people go the extra mile to help animals, even if it means putting themselves at risk.
We’ve all heard stories about brave souls facing harsh conditions to save a trapped pet.
And in Aragon, eastern Spain, two police officers did just that, diving into a freezing reservoir to save a stranded dog.
Picture this: the reservoir is visibly frozen, chunks of ice everywhere, and two officers strip down to the waist, ready to plunge into the icy water.
That’s exactly what happened.
Despite a cold front bringing heavy snow and high winds, these officers didn’t hesitate.
They swam through the icy water, determined to reach the helpless dog.
The video of the rescue is truly something else.
You can see the officers pushing through the ice, completely unfazed by the freezing temperatures.
They finally get a hold of the dog and carefully lead it back to shore. It’s incredible to watch.
According to NewsOn6, the officers mentioned that the dog had been in the water for a “long time” before they got the report that morning.
It’s unclear whether the dog was a stray or someone’s lost pet, and we don’t know what happened to it next.
But one thing is for sure: thanks to these brave officers, the dog is now safe from the freezing water.
